Beacon, the supply chain visibility and collaboration platform, has been awarded an exclusive 12-month contract by Tata Consumer Products to track thousands of containers of raw materials and finished goods for the company.
Tata Consumer Products, a top 10 food & beverage company in India and the second largest branded tea company in the world, produces hot and cold beverages, salt, spices and ready to eat foods which are sold all round the world.
Companies today often use multiple carriers and forwarders to move their goods at any one time, meaning they have to juggle a huge amount of information over multiple systems. Beacon’s platform provides this logistics data all in one place in real-time, combined with a powerful suite of tracking, data management, analytics, planning and collaboration tools. The capability of the platform will enable Tata Consumer Products to track shipment milestones, manage disruptions, reduce costs and enhance performance within their supply chains.
Fraser Robinson, CEO of Beacon, commented: “Without adequate visibility, logistics and supply chain teams often have to take costly measures to compensate for uncertainties - or simply leave things to chance. However, using Beacon’s platform, Tata will be able to benefit from improved operational processes and SLA adherence, time savings and error reduction, and tighter control over freight spend.”
David Cook, Group Logistics Manager of Tata Consumer Products, added: “We’re excited to partner with Beacon to improve visibility and collaboration across our supply chain from raw materials imports to finished goods exports. Working with Beacon is helping our day to day operations, streamlining collaboration across teams, and giving us the visibility to drive defects and costs down.”
